Priority of access
We operate under the Federal Government's Child Care Benefit (Eligibility of Child Care Services for Approval and Continued Approval) Determination 2000 scheme and comply with the Priority of Access guidelines [PDF, 54.68Kb].
Current UWA staff and students are also eligible for consideration of priority of access to places, with staff receiving first priority, then students and then the general community. Further information is available on request from the UWA Child Care Services office.
To join our waiting list, parents must submit an online application for each child. Within a week, we will reply by email to let you know your position on the waiting list for your child’s age group/s.
Waiting list application form
Submitting the online waiting list application form does not guarantee you a position at the centre; it simply places you on the waiting list.
We are unable to estimate when positions will become available, as vacancies arise only when current families leave the centre or change their enrolment, which is something we cannot predict.
Owing to the high volume of waiting list applicants, we do not offer tours of the centre until we are able to offer you a position.
Please keep in contact quarterly, preferably by email, to let us know if your care requirements or contact details change so we have a record of your correspondence. It is the responsibility of parents to keep their information up-to-date and to stay in contact regularly with the centre; failure to do so could result in applicants missing a vacancy if they are unable to be contacted.
Occasionally we will send a bulk email to all families on our waiting list. If you do not respond to these bulk emails within two weeks, we will assume you no longer require care for your child and you will be removed from our waiting list.
Once a vacancy becomes available, we will contact you by email or by telephone. If you wish to view the centre before accepting, we will arrange a visit. Once you accept the position, the orientation process begins.
Information on orientation and enrolment will be provided to each family upon their acceptance of a position at the centre.
Visiting the centre
We invite all our new families to visit the centre with your child as often as you like before commencing care, and request a minimum of two one-hour visits prior to commencement. You are required to stay with your child during these visits as it is a time to discuss any special needs, routines at home and play interests with your child’s educator, and to familiarise yourselves with the centre.
Visiting hours are by appointment only between 10.00–11.00am, and 2.30–3.30pm, Tuesday to Thursday.
